More than two-dozen children from the Centre Educatif l’Union des Coeurs in Ouanaminthe, Haiti, arrived in Lexington early Wednesday evening (Sept. 22) to prepare for their performances during the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

The choir has been trained by University of Kentucky graduate students in voice Eric Brown and Manuel Castillo and is slated for appearances at the opening ceremonies Saturday (Sept. 25) and an Oct. 4 concert with The Chieftans. That concert will be a fund raiser for Haitian Harmony, a program to support a touring choir and build schools in Ouanaminthe.
While in Kentucky, the kids are staying at and rehearsing in Southland Christian Church. Watch the Herald-Leader for more on the Haitian Harmony visit over the weekend.
